Message From Dr. Haq

I want to take a moment to send a message to my current and prospective patients and their family members.

Over my years of training and practice, I have had the privilege of treating thousands of patients, each with a unique set of challenges, and all of whom have taught me invaluable lessons.

Among the most personally rewarding experiences for me has always been the successful treatment of patients with serious mood disorders. The suffering and pain of depression can be unremitting and disabling, and it can rob people of their ability to function well and enjoy life. The mission of McLean Neuropsychiatric Treatment Center is to help people find relief from depression and to get their lives back.

Psychotherapy and antidepressant medications have helped countless people battle depression and should generally be tried first. However, some people’s depression does not respond adequately to these treatments, some have intolerable side effects to medications, and some simply need more rapid response than these treatments can offer.

In such individuals, the careful use of ECT, TMS, and esketamine can be incredibly helpful. These are proven treatments that can often help these patients regain hope and achieve relief when nothing else does. These treatments do not always work, and each of them has its risks and benefits that need to be considered. However, when they do work – which they frequently do – witnessing the rapid improvement in the patient’s subjective mood and objective functioning is the most gratifying part of working as a psychiatrist.

It is my hope that McLean Neuropsychiatric Treatment Center can serve as a beacon of hope for those who have not found relief for their depression elsewhere. My aspirations are to bring the entirety of my training and experience to each patient encounter and to deliver state-of-the-art treatment to every patient. I maintain the highest standards of professionalism and integrity, and my clinical decisions are evidence-based and reflect my knowledge of the latest research. Independence from outside influences allows me to offer the highest level of confidentiality and care.

I look forward to working with you, and it is my hope that I am able to help you in the manner that you need.
